Day 14 - Buenos Aires

Today we have boarded our fifth flight and travelled away from the cold south to the warm north. Imagine our surprise to find that there was drizzly rain in Buenos Aires. Still it makes no difference to us as we are chillaxing for what is left of the afternoon. Our flight was supposed to be 9:30 this morning and we had to leave the hotel at 7:15, but it was delayed by an hour so it was 10:45 before we were away. We landed just after 2 and it took over an hour for our bags to appear.  The inefficiency here is unbelievable. Both the Chileans and the Argentinians have only one speed, dead slow stop. Considering that tourism is such a huge part of their economy they certainly don't serve you with a smile or even bother to try to communicate with you, unlike Vietnam and Cambodia where they were very keen to be of service and speak as much English as possible.

After we had had the obligatory cup of tea we went out for a wander and somehow found ourselves at Freddos Ice Cream parlour where we bought a quarter kilo of ice cream, chocolate, caramel and creme brûlée, mmmmmmm. We have spared you having to witness such a piggy treat as we failed to take a photo. I won't want to be reminded, especially when we get on the scales next week!!!!

Nice sunrise at 6:30 this morning

Lovely FaceTime with my mum this afternoon. Tried you Jackie but you're never there :-(

Now it's time to get ready to go out to eat and then hopefully have an early night before yet another early start tomorrow. Iguazu here we come.

As we were going out for food tonight we bumped into Ian and Sandra who, like us, had decided not to go to the tango show. We thought that £180 for dinner and a tango show was far more than we wanted to spend on something we didn't really want, especially as it wasn't going to finish until midnight and we have an early start tomorrow. Had a nice meal anyway and were amused when the house wine was served in a penguin, very odd!!!!
