Day 13 - The Beagle Channel

First of all a couple of photographs from Perito Merino, people walking on the ice on the far left hand side. Unfortunately over 65s weren't allowed.

A close up of the walkers

Today, as always, we were up bright and early and for the first time ever we were late and we're last on the bus.  We would have been ahead of time except that we had a problem with our safe and it took forever to get somebody to come and reset it. What a faff.  When once we were on our way though it was quickly down to the port, tickets purchased, on to our boat and out to the Beagle Channel.

Our boat, notice the grey skies but the sun shines on the righteous and they soon cleared and we had a wonderful day.

Our hotel, the white building in the middle of the picture.

First we saw a cormorant colony

followed by the sea lions

and then a humpback whale came out to play

After our boat trip we went to the Tierra Del Fuego national park and did a couple of lovely walks. The one walk took us to the end of the most southerly road in the world.

This photo shows our position in relation to Antarctica

Post office at the end of the world

At last I'm warm, it's been freezing all day. They reckon you can have four seasons in one day here and I believe them.
